British Valve & Actuator Association
Company profile
Established in 1939, the British Valve and Actuator Association represents the interests of more than 60 British companies which are responsible for over £500 million sales each year.
BVAA member companies employ more than 8,000 personnel directly in manufacturing and an equal number in support industries.
Services
Executive Committee
Terms of Reference: To be ultimately responsible to the Association membership:
-For all matters pertaining to the general, financial, membership and administrative governance of the Association as detailed in the Memorandum & Articles of Association and may be delegated such powers as the Association in General Meeting shall specify
-For the election from amongst their number a Chairman and such number of Vice Chairmen as they may determine, who shall retire annually but be eligible for re-election
-For the election of a Steering Group to be responsible for all detailed matters pertaining to the future startegy, administration and financial affairs of the Association and for the vetting of applicants for membership and recommendation for acceptance/rejection thereof.
Steering Group
Terms of Reference: To be responsible to the Executive Committee:
-For all detailed matters pertaining to the future strategy, administration and financial affairs of the association
-For the vetting of applicants for membership and recommendation for acceptance/rejection thereof
Project Groups
Actuator Working Group
Terms of Reference: To be responsible to the Executive Committee:
-For all matters pertaining to technical and standardization activities concerned with actuators and their component parts
-For the development of, and where relevant contribution
to, technical publications and guidance concerning actuators
-For the appointment and briefing of delegates to represent the committee at Executive, Government, international, European and other internal or external groups, as and when appropriate
Manufacturing & Quality Working Group
Terms of reference: To be responsible to the Executive Committee:
-For all matters pertaining to manufacturing techniques and processes, materials and quality assurance
-For the development of, and where relevant contribution to, technical publications and guidance concerning such issues
-For the appointment and briefing of delegates to represent the committee at Executive, Government, international, European and other internal or external groups, as and when appropriate
Marketing Committee
Terms of Reference: To be responsible to the Executive Committee:
-For all matters pertaining to the marketing and promotion of the industry, its Association, its members and their products and services
-For the development and management of the Association’s strategy with regard to marketing, publicity, websites, exhibitions and related issues
-For the development and contribution to commercial publications such as annual reviews, newsletters, periodicals, buyer’s guides, supplements, etc.
-For the commissioning and/or undertaking of market and statistical surveys, liaison on official product/industry classifications, etc.
-For the appointment and briefing of delegates to represent the committee at Executive, Government, European and other internal or external groups, as and when appropriate
Valve Working Group
Terms of Reference: To be responsible to the Executive Committee:
-For all matters pertaining to technical and standardization activities concerned with valves and their component parts
-For the development of, and where relevant contribution to, technical publications and guidance concerning valves
-For the appointment and briefing of delegates to represent the committee at Executive, Government, international, European and other internal or external groups, as and when appropriate.
